How to Choose a Reiki Master/Teacher – Nashville Reiki

Warning:  Rant Ahead!  This is a word of advice to choose your Reiki Master/Teacher wisely.  Do the research, and find someone that resonates with you.  Trust your instinct!

I have seen several advertisements lately from Reiki Masters trying to make a quick buck teaching first and second degree Reiki.  Many offer the first and second degree class combined, which I am against.  Many are including second and third degree symbols with the first level class.  And I have also seen classes that were only one or two hours long.  You cannot possibly teach everything there is to know about Reiki in one hour.

I have had students from some of these teachers come to me saying, “I have my Second Degree Reiki, but I have no idea what to do with it.”  I have also had students from some of these teachers that didn’t know what a chakra was, didn’t know how to scan energy before a treatment, or how to sweep away negative energy after a treatment.  All of these are because the student wasn’t trained sufficiently.

Reiki is a wonderful healing modality, and I take it very seriously.  Students should be thoroughly trained in order to provide the best treatment they can.  Their future clients deserve the best treatment they can get as well.  After all, don’t we all want what we pay for?  If you are going to be working in someone’s energy field, you need to know what the hell you are doing!  I personally don’t trust just anyone with my energy.

If you are considering taking a Reiki class from me, rest assured you will be thoroughly trained.  Each class is designed for the appropriate level.  Your instruction will include in-depth information about chakras, how to scan and “read” someone’s energy for imbalances, how to sweep away negative energy, how to help your client raise their energy field, and how to ground yourself before a treatment so that you do not take your client’s imbalances on yourself.  Each class ends with practice sessions, so you never leave without having done a Reiki treatment on me or another student.

As a Reiki Master, I am always available for guidance and advice for my students.  I will never send you out in the world to figure it out on your own.  I believe in Reiki and it’s healing energy, and I am here to help you provide the best treatments you can for your clients.

If you received training from another Reiki master, and feel like you weren’t thoroughly training, please check out the Reiki Renewal class on my classes page.  This class was specifically designed to give you the tools you need to be a successful Reiki Practitioner.

Rant over.
