Reflexology – What to Expect

Reflexology Session – What to Expect

Many people ask me to explain Reflexology, and what they can expect from a session.  First and foremost, Reflexology is an holistic healing modality.  Holistic healing means the whole person is healed — body, mind and spirit. There are pressure points on the feet (and hands) that represent every organ and system in the body.  By applying pressure to these points, you stimulate that part of the body, initiating a healing response.  Through Reflexology, you boost the body’s natural immune system, and awaken the body’s natural ability to heal itself.  This process returns the whole body to homeostasis, which is the naturally healed state.

Since the reflex points are stimulated through a deep, thorough foot massage (and lower leg) you also receive the benefits of rest and relaxation. Foot massage is one of the best ways to relieve stress and anxiety, and just relax.  That’s a welcomed change in this busy world.  I find most people sleep during their session, and tell me they feel peaceful and relaxed after the session.

If you have a chronic disease such as diabetes, high blood pressure, immune disorders, etc., these too can be helped by working all the reflex points that would be affected.  Sometimes multiple short sessions work best when dealing with disease.

As an added bonus, you can request a feet and hands sugar scrub with your session (for an additional charge). Sugar scrubs have been used for centuries to ‘polish’ the skin.  Sugar scrubs remove rough, dry skin and will leave your feet and hands feeling soft and smooth.  Yes, this treatment is for men too.  Men need to take care of their skin too!  Reflexology treatments begin with a warm foot soak, using Epsom salts and essential oils.  The session is usually performed with the client laying on a massage table.  I also have a zero gravity chair if you prefer to recline during your session.

You will pampered during a Reflexology session with me….so come on, you’re worth it!
