I have often said that Jesus was one of the great Ascended Masters, a prophet much like Buddha, Muhammad, Abraham, and others. Beyond that, I’m not sure. I guess you could call me an agnostic when it comes to Jesus. I believe he existed, that he was one with God, and had many things to teach us. I doubt the stories of the virgin birth and being raised from the dead. These are not original stories, and do they even matter? As long as we listen and learn from his teachings do we need to believe the rest?
Those that we normally consider to be Masters were born 2000+ years ago. Why haven’t there been any masters since then? After much though, I believe there have been. 2000 years ago religion decided to take over our spirituality. Since then, the great one have been labeled and owned by the church. Today we call them saints. I’m sure that’s a word created by the church to keep anyone below the status of Jesus, and make them less important.
There have been many Masters since Jesus: St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, St. Francis of Assisi, Mother Theresa, and many many more. We have been blessed b their actions and insight, and we will continue to be blessed by people like these. There was no age of Masters; they have always existed and always will, no matter what label we apply to them. We have to learn to recognize them. If you haven’t read about the great works of these people, you should. And I will keep looking to them to enrich my own life.
